Our journey continues and YES, we encountered THE BOSS. This time not some easy to take down Bandit Leader but a true Prime Demon:

Looks impressive, doesn’t he? Well, he was and our team had real problem to get rid of him! But such things happen where you enter THE RIFT, kill bunch of minor demons and when you encounter their leader, you defy his request to support him. Well, sounds like a fun and it was!
As for team, here we are at e beginning of this encounter:
- me – playing Brute – currently level 4
- Kuba J – playing Spellweaver – currently level 3
- Kuba G – playing Tinkerer – currently level 3
So, let’s the fun begin! Photo session report from our play-through:

Both Tinkere and Spellweaver leveled-up from 3 to 4, so at the end of the scenario the whole group was Lvl4! That was very exciting and interesting game and I full yrecommend everybody to try some day kill a real Prime Demon 🙂 🙂 🙂
Our Gloomhaven Campaign: Scenario#1 => Scenario#2 => Scenario#3 => Scenario#69 => Scenario#4 => Scenario#5 => Scenario#93 => Scenario#10 => Scenario#21
Such a weird scenario. Brought me most satisfaction , forced me to rethink my character and thought me i can be useful in different ways than just damage dealer or healer. First room not that easy, as already with an Elite unit that could retaliate hard. In the second room we’ve received few bruises . We stayed away from next door and focused on killing demons/elementals , there wasn’t much time for healing all wounds. With Tinkerer we’ve stayed in the middle of 2nd room and the Brute made a long run , rammed the door and stopped at the Altar with good 10hp hit . We didn’t expect monsters to spawn nearby quick, but after Brute’s hit the Altar moved and spawned dangerous elemental. And that’s when huge threat rised, i wasn’t too fit for combat, and tinkerer had to focus more on hitting enemies than healing me(enemy was away, so no big threat just yet). The next turn altar moved again and new creature spawned. Brute has been returning to us quickly but the Prime Demon has been hitting him hard. The next turn was decisive, If any of monsters moved before us, 2 of us(me and the Brute) could have ended dead then, ice and night demons were in our range, and from behind we could have received hits from the Boss as well. Luckilly both “minor” monsters died before they could attack and i/Spellweaver discovered a way to help team in a way i have never tried/needed before. I went for the doors and put ice sheild creating safe haven in the Altar’s room. Later used also cloak of invisibility and again ice shield, that have us up to 5-6 turns(ice shield was ver effective as only the Prime Demon could hit me, and alone he needed 2 turns to destroy it), during which the altar was supposed to come back to us. For 2 rounds altar hasn’t moved , and we’ve started to feel pressure, but when it finally come to us, it was quick ending with powerfull Tinkerer’s hit. Very strange scenario for me, instead doing much damage with aerial attacks as i usually did , i had to play the role of Gandalf the Grey who faced the mighty Balrog and allowed friends to escape threat. I screamed “You shall not pass” and the Prime Demon couldn’t do anything. Very close to quick defeat after the altar moved for the 2nd time and we’ve almost bleed out, and such a great mood swing, when i disovered i had the frost armor and i can use if for the first time . Tinkerer also learned, he can really do a huge damage if he wants, we were close to destroy altar earlier, but it moved away just before Tinkerer could use his best attack in 2nd room, so we had to quickly adjust strategy, hide in Altar’s chamber and wait for altar to return.
