Our Frosthaven adventure just took another twist. Kind in the style of…. Pirates of Caribbean! Well, that what happens when you open the wrong bottle or are too curious and unlock some old, mysterious scroll. Then the Pirates ship, full of Wraiths, will arrive at your doorsteps and will wreak chaos and terror within the vicinity.
But we would not be so reckless to bring it on us? Wouldn’t we?… Ekhm… We love new adventures and oftentimes fancy venturing into most unhabitable places. Sometimes we will find glimmering, intriguing artefacts. Sometimes, even with the warning of bystanders, we would touch / take them. And then we reap the consequences… Always explaining to ourselves “who might have known???”.

Ok, before we jump into the adventure description – and how / if we managed to get ourselves out of it, short reminder on our team composition. Four characters allows for a very versatile and flexible approach:
- Frozen Fist – level 5 (me) – a guy with pretty unusual mechanics (losing health to recover cards), proves to be a decent damage dealer while also can soak up some damage.
- Infuser – level 5 (Kuba J) – crazy mechanics with infusion, possibility to send swords as summons, strong attacks with decent health. Another damage dealer capable of taking some beating.
- Snowdancer – level 5 (Kuba G) – crowd control and manipulation master, creates a lot of hazardous terrain and then pulls or pushes monsters. Especially useful in open terrain scenarios.
- Drifter – level 3 (Adam) – This is super flexible character, who can heal, attack, take the beating and is no dependent on elements; very strong addition to our team.
Scenario Specifics
Below we analyze scenario, its set-up, win conditions and complexity levels:

On one hand we have only one dot below the scenario name; so it should be straightforward, not complicated. But when you look at map (see below), three decks of the ship, the need to loot crates AND come back safely and unscratched (nobody can be exhausted), this is getting a bit tricky. Also, monsters we will be facing – Wrights – are extremely unpleasant and unpredictable. Still, we need to save Frosthaven from this raid! Let us see how we dealt with that!

Session Report

Summary
Thematically that was definitely cool scenario; a bit tedious on the upper deck – it was really hard to dispatch Artillery & Wrights combination. But the deeper we went the quicker we dealt with enemies. And after about three hours of play we victoriously escaped that haunted freighter!
More reports to come!

It was a painful scenario where there was more tactical manouvering than combat. Combat took us more time due to City Hall challenge (enemies gain 1 shiled if there is no debuff on them, and loose 1 Hp when they loose such condition).
Very annoying enemies , Ice Wraiths, that not only change form and mechanics(as normal is a ranged unit, with 2 shileds, due to a challenge even 3, as elite is a melee unit with painful 2 retaliate), but also may get invisible and impossible to hit, which happened few times, when we were ready to kill them and they faded out, so turn became lost for us , as there was noone else to hit. As flying enemies they are unaffected by hazardous terrain created by Snowflake, so for some time it was a boring scenario for our friend.
Only 2 cannons in the first line, but due to Ice Wraith’s being main priority they lasted very long, so we tried to avoid their fire, which wasn’t easy and limited our mobility, and made reaching cannons in one turn quite difficult(5+ range). We didn’t want to get near them unless we could kill them before their next action.
The 2 room has been dealt mainly with 3 of us(Drifter, Snowfist and my Infuser) Snowflake arrived later and helped to finish off the job. After so many turns spent on clearing two we’ve decided we don’t want to spend much more time in the game. We’ve becoming exhausted due to prolonged battle and still neded to return with crates to the starting positions to evacuate. We’ve selected our healthiest member-Drifter who went down for the last cargo, and we all left the ship.
The scenario wasn’t difficult, but combination of enemies and challanges made it very time consuming. We battled mainly against the timer/stamina than against enemies.
