When you look at our Frosthaven campaign and numerous scenarios we played, almost half of them was in four-player set-up. Unfortunately, despite our deepest wishes and attempts, the fourth player (be it Konrad, one Tomek or the other Tomek) has not stayed with us for too long.
Still, there was some unfinished business to complete which we could not leave just like that. Namely, the retirement of Drifter. His personal goal was to collect some resources and then play two-scenario mini-campaign. We managed to accomplish the initial adventure – #69 Sacred Soil – and then our four-player team permanently collapsed to three.
Our Frosthaven Campaign in scenario order:
Some interesting materials about Frosthaven World: Frosthaven – first look – starting characters (1/2) Frosthaven – first look – starting characters (2/2) Frosthaven – monsters' analysis & strategies – Lurkers Frosthaven – monsters' analysis & strategies – Unfettered
But we devised a cunning plan. One of us will play two-handed, leading two characters in this last mission. That will allow us to complete retirement and reap the fruits of this! (probably unlocking some building and getting prosperity). So this time our team composition looked a bit differently:
- Damage Dealer – my Deathwalker at level 6
- Support – Trapper (Kuba J) level 5
- Tank – Coral (Kuba G) level 4 (just recently promoted)
- and… another Tank – Drifter level 5 – played two hands by Kuba G!
Again, we decided to stay on Normal Difficulty – definitely, Gloomhaven was much more simpler and straightforward than Frosthaven and playing four characters with three players was enough complication.

Here is our scenario:
Finally! After so many side quests played recently with super complicated, wild or bizarre win conditions here we have a straightforward “kill-them-all” type of game. There will be some twist – we got information we need to protect some “Sacred Tree” from being destroyed by bunch of fanatics but well, that means we shall dispatch them even faster! Let us see.

Summary
Playing that scenario was a good decision; we gained new building, two prosperity and feeling that Drifter chapter is finally over. That was a good buddy – jovial Inox who could take a lot of beating but also inflict significant damage. Versatile character – to be missed for sure!
See you in another session report!
Yup. Sad era of our gaming got finished. We’ve tried to drag 3 different guys into our adventure in Frosthaven, but none of them got hooked up. Sadly, even giving them probably the most versatile/fun and overpowered character in game (that we’ve met so far) wasn’t enough. The scenario was quite difficult, without Drifter we would have a big trouble to protect the tree, but having 2 tanks to handle 2 groups(in both tiles with the tree) of enemies was really helpful. With extra damage from retaliation (and shields), that our tanks used, i had little less offensive work to do, did little more healing traps(than usually), looted treasury. Suprisingly we were so fast that on the final tile enemies weren’t even able to reach the tree to land their attacks, tanks and my traps blocked the path quickly. Once again Michal could use his powerful attack to the fullest, almost in every scenario we are able to channel/group enemies so he could attack at least 4-5 of them, while other Kuba handled 2 more complex character at once(Coral and Drifter, both 12 card hands and unusual mechanics).
