Welcome to another material for Fields of Fire: Deluxe Edition. In this series we try to introduce new and returning players to that great title. In this new edition we are getting a wonderful product with great components but what is even more important – streamlined learning path. By many treated as complex and difficult, the game really shines once you follow this track and familiarize yourselves with the mechanics step by step, bit by bit.

In the first material (Fields of Fire Platoon Basics Academy) we focused on single platoon and very rudimentary maneuvering and combat. This time we present three episodes in which we shall managed the whole Company – and with each mission, introduce new rules. So let us start with Company Assault Course!

  • The objective of Run 4 is to use the two platoons to eliminate all enemies on the map in 10 turns. There are no ammo restrictions and all units start at Line Experience. The enemy positions while “known” are not considered Spotted.
Run 4 – Company Assaulting a Known Position
  • The objective of Run 5 is to again use the two platoons to eliminate all enemies on the map in 10 turns. There are no ammo restrictions and all units start at Line Experience. However, the enemy positions are “unknown” and Potential Contact system will be used to determine the exact opposing forces.
Run 5 – Company & Potential Contact
  • The Run 6 is final test in Basics Academy. We will use the two platoons to eliminate all enemies on the map in 10 turns. There are no ammo restrictions and all units start at Line Experience. Enemy positions are unknown (we use Potential Contact system) and what is more, the full communication rules apply. Good luck!
