Another month and another regular update on the new additions in area of storage solutions for our favorite wargames, created using Cube4Me trays and card holders. What you will find below are recently created tailor-made sets which are checked to fit in the box and nicely sort & store all the pieces.

A quick reminder too – you can find all Wargaming Sets under below link:

And now let us jump to actual games and new sets which were created!

Men of Iron from GMT Games

Men of Iron is definitely one of the more popular GMT’s medieval series. The system allows to reenact the battles from this period using standard set of rules while at the same time keeping the number of counters in each engagement low.

As for the storage set, what we are getting here is classical two-tray set – each of trays being 4×5 compartments – which allows all various types of units properly sorted and easily accessible. This will not only fit that base game but also further expansions.

Plantagenet Cousins’ War for England 1459-1485 from GMT Games

Plantagenet quickly becomes one of my favorite Levy & Campaign games, due to it streamlined mechanics, beautiful components and joy from play. Immediately once it was published I was asked – by designer himself! – to create a proper storage solution, similar to what was prepared for Almoravid and Inferno.

So I set to this task and proposed versatile system to store all components. First, all wooden pieces are divided into three card holders, depending on type. Then, all cards are split against type (Command vs Arts of War), side (Yorks vs Lancastrians) or Lords. On top of this, all cylinders and counters are getting one single, deep, 3×4 tray. All of this fits nicely into the box and allows for quick set-up of all scenarios.

Assault Red Horizon 41 from Assault Games

Assault Red Horizon 41 is a great tactical warfare game (and system) anchored in World War II. We are getting here tons of tokens, counters and other game elements, not to mention multiple card types. All of this allows for excellent experience when playing this game but requires also decent number of trays and card holders to sort it all out for easy access.

So what do we use? First, small card holders to keep all cubes and general tokens in one place; then the large card holders for all the formation and command cards. On top of this we add shallow 4×5 trays to store the counters and one 3×4 deep tray for generic tokens you prefer to have always available. Of course, you can use only portion of the set if you feel that this will be sufficient for you.

Check details below:

Iron, Blood, Snow and Mud from PHALANX

Iron, Blood, Snow & Mood was a very positive surprise for me; that small game allows us to recreate the World War II Eastern Front struggle in about 2 hours, keeping all the feel of this conflict.

As said, this is a small game so also the proposed set will be minimalistic – one 4×3 compartments deep tray, which sorts all counters, tokens as well as dice. Easy access during the game to everything what is needed!

Global War: World War II Worldwide 1939-1945 from White Dog Games

I am fan of Ben Madison creations and had a pleasure to playtest Global War – another title in State of Siege series. We are getting here a lot of important tokens, which you need properly sorted out before starting the play. If you add to this very small box, things are getting complicated.

Still, I managed to find a set which will fit – properly thin but wide tray, with all fronts and auxiliary counters sorted by type. And it fits into the box!

Triomphe a Marengo from Histogame

When I first saw Triomphe a Marengo on Essen 2022 Spiel I knew I need that game. Beautifully looking title, which had such a unique mechanics as well as feel. As I already had a pleasure to play it, I can confirm all those expectations were dully confirmed.

Here, I can propose two approaches to the storage set. One – above – which uses to tarot-sized card holders. Perfect to store pieces from both sides in one pace. But I know some of you would like to have it much more sorted out, and for this we use a tray where we shall have set-up pieces, reinforcements, morale as well as additional ones, which are for reductions as well as spares.

Conclusion

We continue 2024 strongly on Cube4Me front. A lot of new storage solutions is being added – both for classics as well as new titles. And we promise not to stop and further continue preparation of great sets for you guys!
