When I first time heard that David Thompson and Trevor Benjamin designed another wargame I was not only intrigued but sure I would need to get it. That prolific duet has talent of creating medium or low complexity wargames, which attract pretty broad audience and propagate our beloved hobby very broadly.

In General Orders: World War II they take us for another very intriguing journey. We are getting wargame with worker placement mechanic; wait, we are in essence getting TWO games, as Alpine Map and Pacific Map are so vividly different – in set-up, asymmetry but also rules. There are a lot of elements which makes this game very replayable (area bonuses) and all of this in max 45 minutes!

Today I would like to explain the rules and present full example of play for the Alpine Map. The Pacific will require separate material, as we would need to discuss vivid differences in rules between both.

Enjoy!
