During last year I had a chance to familiarize with Kingdom of Heaven (KOH) pretty thoroughly – playing five large scenarios gives you a lot of insight into the system. That game designed by Scott de Brestian and published Multi-Man Publishing (MMP) almost 15 years ago is so far the best strategic-level depiction of fascinating Crusaders period. It guides you through the whole story, from the super-lucky first crusade to the arrival of Mongols. The adjustments to deck for each play means that while major system stays intact, you are getting some novelty always.

Other materials for Kingdom of Heaven:
Kingdom of Heaven – Scenario A – The First Crusade
Kingdom of Heaven – Scenario B – The Second Crusade
Kingdom of Heaven – Scenario C – The Invasion of Egypt
Kingdom of Heaven – Scenario D – The Third Crusade
Kingdom of Heaven – Scenario E – The Fifth Crusade

And sieges – this is simply best depiction of this aspect of warfare I have ever seen, How to simulate something which can last from 2 weeks to 18 months? How to depict ebbs and flows on both sides, rising morale, diminishing supplies, relief forces. KOH gives here a perfect answer.

Now, I praised that game a lot. I believe it would be good to show its mechanics and what I appreciate in them in more detail. That is why blow material was create – I truly hope you will enjoy it!
