In Iwo Jima: Hell on Earth the mission of the player as the commander of US forces is to conquer the island of Iwo Jima to secure its three airfields and the iconic Mount Suribachi. The game simulates the 36-day battle in nine turns, with each turn representing approximately four days. Victory is determined at the end of Turn 9 by calculating your Victory Points (VPs). You earn them by eliminating Japanese units, capturing key objectives on time and via Japanese surrender.

When the game was in early design I did a detailed interview with Jose Neva, author of the game, where you can find much more details about it: Interview with Jose Neva, designer of Iwo Jima: Hell on Earth by Neva Press.

And today I would like to present the final effect and how beautiful and interesting that game in the end become!

Enjoy!
