Plagued by severe delays, problems in development as well as during production, Total War: ROME – The Board Game finally saw the light a year ago. However, that was not the start we would like to see – the components were nice and error-free, the production of top quality; still, the rulebook was very poorly written & edited and was leaving a lot of ambiguity and open questions.

One would think – that is it; game over! Another title which sparked initial interest but failed to fulfill the promise and should be quickly forgotten… However, that was not something which true fans of the Total War could accept! Thanks to a group of enthusiasts, a completely rewritten rulebook was soon published (https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/3438286/rosetta-the-community-sourced-rules-rewrite-for-to) and is being constantly worked on.

Thanks to it I was not only able to actually play this game but also enjoy it! That is why – in a series of materials – I am going to introduce this title to you guys so you can make your mind whether to try it.

Hope you will enjoy it! Or at least the materials 🙂

To to dive deeper into the main game rules, which will focus on sequence of play, faction pieces, board explanation, army compositions as well as combat units cards anatomy. This section is more procedural and theoretical – but you can use it as an alternative to reading the rulebook!
