And now let us jump to details of recently added sets which I would like to recommend and draw your attention to!
Combat Commander: Europe/Med. – 20th Anniversary Edition by GMT Games
Combat Commander 20th Anniversary is a game many of us really were looking forward to. This epic edition combines two base games – Europe and Mediterranean, allowing us play with Germans, Soviets, Americans, British, French and Italians. This pack will also include the full Minor Nations expansion, with Poles (hurray!), Canadians, Greeks, Rumanians, Finns, Yugoslavians, Brazilians and New Zealanders!
However, the box (3 inch, pretty large) will be same as for each of combined titles separately. That means a real challenge as far as storage solution is concerned. But fear not! – with proper combination of standard counter trays and completely new card holders we again have a set which allows for perfect box closure!
Make sure to check the details:
The Halls of Montezuma by GMT Games
As you can see we are bringing not only new, freshly printed titles, but also some older classics which are also getting the proper treatment. Halls of Montezuma, which tells the story of the Mexican War, is exactly one of such titles. It gets a pretty standard set of counter tray and two card holders, accompanied by special, two-compartment storage for generic pieces. All of this checked so lid will close nicely, without any lift.

Unhappy King Charles! by GMT Games
I am glad that we can bring to Dear Readers of this blog and fellow wargamers new solutions all the time. Especially when they so nicely help us to sort and sort pieces for games which have small / shallow boxes. This is the case with classical GMT Games Unhappy King Charles! – where with proper usage of the new, three-compartment card holder we were able to fit all components (and those in sleeves!) into the box!
More details on the set here:
Fading Glory by GMT Games
Another small challenge from the Storage Solution set was Fading Glory. Published in days when GMT’s games were mainly in shallow boxes, it requires some flexibility to fit both smaller counter tray and card holders. Only usage of deep tray allows to fit all of those British, French and Russian armies – but once done, that looks splendidly!

Habemus Papam by Salt & Pepper Games
You have probably not expected that game here? Well, I like Pako Gradaille creations so much and those look so beautiful and appealing that I decided to design the storage & sorting solution also for Habemus Papam. This is not a typical wargame – still, some decent set to have all those pieces nicely sorted and stored is important.
However, due to the box size this will work only with one language version!

Verdun by Dragon Dawn Productions
Essen Spiel is always a fantastic place to discover new releases – including wargames. Verdun from the Finnish publisher Dragon Dawn Productions was one such find for me. I had the chance to play it, and its clever trick-tracking mechanics for resolving battles and scoring immediately stood out. The components are beautiful and thematic, and the constant tough decisions make gameplay highly engaging.
The storage solution which fits perfectly in super-small box is based mainly on cards holders – but you will not get the sleeved cards there for sure. Still, it nicely sorts out the components and allows for quick set-up!

Conclusion
It is great to see the number of specialized Cube4Me sets for wargames expanding so rapidly. They make storing and organizing game components much easier – and add a touch of elegance as well. This progress is especially satisfying for me and Marcin, who began this journey together. And there is much more to come!
