I am continuing my exciting journey with Fields of Fire. I believe we are ready now to jump to the real battle, to the real challenge, after doing all the Basics and Advanced Academies plus showing the game in Standalone Mission. Of course, with such complicated, multi-layer game some omissions or small mistakes are inevitable. However, do not allow those small hiccups to never discourage you from playing this great game!
Other materials in the series:
- Unboxing & Overview
- Platoon Basics Academy
- Company Basics Academy
- Advanced Academy
- Standalone Mission Playthrough

Despite the traffic jam getting across Omaha Beach, we need to go into the attack to secure the beachhead and let the 1st and 29th Division troops catch their breath as they have been fighting hard since D-Day. We have to keep the pressure on the Germans, so they do not have a chance to re-organize a strong defensive line. The Germans do already have a strongpoint at Trévières, but we need to take the town as it is an important road junction.
The Aure river is an obstacle to motorized movement, so we are going in on foot, wading across the Aure to take it in the flank. Due to the congestion on the beach, we do not have all our heavy weapons, but we will use maneuver and surprise. For most of us, this is our first time in combat, but this is what we spent the last two years training for. You know your jobs, I have confidence that your training will take over. Good luck and God bless you.
So this is it; the first, true test to our company. The mission is not especially large or difficult but we have many green units and it will hinder us enormously. We have 10 turns to achieve the objective which is securing the Primary and Secondary Objectives and clearing Rows 1 and 2 (out of three, so the map is not extensive).
Our opponent is 90th Brigade from 352nd Infantry Division and they will use a Deliberate Defense to try to stop us or at least delay. Fortunately, the 15th Field Artillery Battalion will send us some reinforcements so we can count on limited number of High Explosives and White Phosphorus packages.
With that short introduction to the situation, let us dive into the action-packed session report which I divided into three, easily digestible chunks for your comfort. Under each video you will see the contents of it. Enjoy!
Good Luck!
