What makes a Monster Boardgame? Usually, it is a game that is either very large, very complex, or both. One criterion sometimes adopted is the number of pieces; a game which puts greater than 1000 counters into play at once may be considered to be a monster game.

Thunder in the East definitely fulfills that criteria. The scale and strategic depth of this title is enormous – however, makes still for a playable game. The beautiful components – various size counters, great map, nicely-printed rulebook or player aids – only strengthen the great experience we are getting here.

In below material we shall not only look at the contents of the relatively large box, but also explain some of the game mechanics.

I hope you will enjoy it!
