Let me invite you to another material about the great wargame developed on the digital platform by Bill Kalpakoglou – namely Arete: The Battles of Alexander the Great. This is definitely something what all the seasoned wargamers were waiting for – a classic hex & counter title, with beautiful graphics, multiple scenarios in campaign, demanding AI, way to play async or hot seat with colleagues.
I hope you would like to see how it works – and that is exactly the idea behind below material. We shall replay the famous battle of Chareonea (338 BC) – key step in Macedon ascent to power and prominence in Greek world (or even beyond!)
If you would like to learn more about the game, feel free to check below article in which author – Bill – explains in the detail what inspired it and how does it work:
For all those willing to check the game in the appropriate shops, follow below links:

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.molotovcockatiel.arete&pcampaignid=web_share

I really need to get this played more so I can review it. I just haven’t been in the right mindset lately to really learn a game like this enough to review it. But soon!

Great , traditional, hex and counter game for iPad. Very reasonably priced. I’ve been playing today and it’s very well done.

My experiences too! Plus it is not easy and has grade system (evaluating how well you did in the scenario). Very much appreciate it!

I quickly tired of this app. It’s very 70s SPI: all round ZoC, no facing, no formation limits, not much leader relevance.

Leader is pretty key for bonuses to combat; and indeed it has pretty traditional rules – which actually is a plus for me.
